NHS hit by staff shortage

The staff shortage in our NHS is getting even worse thanks to policies being pushed by the Conservative government.

There are currently around 100,000 vacancies in the NHS out of a total of more than one million employees.

Brexit makes problems worse

A bad situation is being made even worse by Brexit and by the Conservatives’ ‘hostile environment’ policy that is throwing people out of the country unjustly. The result is that foreign doctors and nurses are now choosing not to live in Britain and work for the NHS.

"There is a growing problem recruiting and keeping hold of the NHS staff we need,” says Lib Dem county group leader Lucy Nethsingha. “Brexit and Conservative policies are really hurting our NHS.”
