St Johns Road Safety Questionnaire

Christine Whelan in St Johns Road

Last Autumn, it became clear that people were concerned about the parking in St Johns Road. Concerns were raised about the safety, with the road often down to a narrow single lane, cars reversing to allow others to pass and emergency vehicles prevented from easy access.

Residents need somewhere to park and if people are not able to park outside their homes, understandably they will seek to park as close as possible and that will move the parking into other roads.

Simply painting yellow lines may cause more of a problem than it solves and so I would like your help so that I can understand what measures will work to ensure that emergency services can easily access the whole of the area and so that the safety of all road users, including pedestrians and cyclists as well as car users, can be improved.
