THE LOCAL LIB DEM TEAM WANT TO MAKE HADDENHAM & ALDRETH EVEN BETTER PLACES TO LIVE
Protecting our villages
Our villages need protection from inappropriate developments as a result of the Conservative shambles over the Local Plan.
We need a proper Local Plan urgently so that developers can’t get away with building in unsuitable places, damaging our villages for decades.
Protecting us from lorries
We want to put restrictions on heavy goods vehicles that use Haddenham as a through route. They have plenty of better options if only the council would bring in proper rules.
Gareth and the Lib Dems want to end years of Conservative inaction.
More affordable homes
Where are young families to live if the only homes being built in our villages are expensive ‘executive’ homes?
Other areas are much better than Conservative East Cambs at ensuring more homes are affordable.
“I love living in Haddenham and want to see everyone’s quality of life here improved”
I moved to Haddenham 19 years ago and it’s a wonderful village with so many facilities and activities. I really want to preserve this and stop too many lorries spoiling it.
Haddenham needs a councillor who will stand up for the village and will make sure he is available to help anyone.
I love living in Haddenham and want to see everyone’s quality of life here protected and improved.
In 2003 I was elected a District Councillor and served for 12 years but was narrowly defeated by the Conservatives four years ago.
I have been a Parish Councillor for 16 years and during this time I helped raise grants for over £140,000 for Playparks in Haddenham and Aldreth and sports projects in the village.
I worked with Parish Councillors and local young people to raise £100,000 for our new skatepark. We got the young users to help design it.
As chairman of the local Road Safety Committee I led applications for road safety projects such as speed warning signs, improved lighting at the crossroads, road humps and speed reduction in Duck Lane.
But most importantly at the moment, I am very concerned at the lack of affordable housing especially for young people.
